Picnic table design, scale model by Zak Basher BELLINGHAM — Western Washington University’s Industrial Design studio partnered with Architectural Elements of Bellingham to host a competition for 13 junior students in the industrial design program. Over the course of three months, students were challenged to re-imagine objects designed for outdoor spaces such as parks, urban areas, and corporate campuses. The students worked closely with Architectural Elements as they designed fully feasible concepts for public outdoor installations covering diverse product categories.  The project was led by Prof. Jason A.
