  Chair and ottoman design by Kelsey Leppek 2022 The industrial design class of Western Washington University 2022 exhibited their final chair design prototypes at HenryBuilt in Seattle, WA, USA. June 10.  A one night only exhibition. This set was made with bent steel tubing and fabric cushions. It was a packed crowd at the first graduate exhibition for WWU ID since 2019. Jon Winebrenner Partner, OneOak Design Jon Winebrenner is a design professional who has been working as a designer in various capacities for over 15 years. Mark Selander graduated from Western Washington University in 1998 with a degree in Industrial Design. His first creative job was operating a chipmunk puppet named Rudy for a Japanese language program hosted by an outcast member of MTV’s “The Real World”.  He currently works as an industrial design consultant developing consumer products, packaging, and retail spaces for Seattle creative firms Pensar Development, Anvil Studios, Wexley School For Girls, and others. His prior work includes conceptual design on video games and entertainment titles for Microsoft, EA, Capcom, ESPN, UPN, and Nintendo. He was a core member of the team that created the ground breaking trans-media marketing campaign for Stephen Spielberg’s film “AI”, and he has helped develop scores of pitches, concepts, and campaigns that have ranged from dizzying success to being thankful that at least his Mom still loves him. Tom Hobbs Interaction Design Manager, TEAGUE As Interaction Design Manager, Tom Hobbs provides inspiration, motivation and direction for Teague’s design team. Originally from the UK, he studied at the Leeds College of Art and the University of Wales. Tom has been in the industry for over fifteen years, working with the legendary Colors Magazine and clients such as Sony, Nikon, Sprint, Verizon, Wells Fargo and Amazon. He joined Teague in 2010 and currently works closely with high-tech giants Microsoft and Intel. Tom has received numerous awards over the course of his career, including accolades from IDEA, iF, and Red Dot. In 2000, he was named one of ID Magazine's Forty Under Thirty. Ana Pinto da Silva leads design for Microsoft’s Strategic Prototyping and Advanced Strategies Group (StratPro). Concept Camera: The WVIL from Artefact on Vimeo . Nikki Pfarr is a Senior Design Strategist at Artefact and a former Ph.D. Candidate at Carnegie Mellon’s Human-Computer Interaction Institute. She is a founding partner of the Brains, Behavior & Design Group, and was previously a UX Designer at Google. Nikki holds a Master's of Design from IIT’s Institute of Design and a B.S. from MIT. She has led workshops on incorporating behavioral economics into user-centered design for the IIT Institute of Design Executive Education summer camp series, the Chicago chapter of the IxDA, and various Artefact clients. Carrie Ferrence Co-owner, Stockbox Grocers Carrie originally hails from rural Pennsylvania, where she was raised by a 4th-generation corner store owner. While rural life provided her with a strong foundation in social equity, hard work, and long hikes, Carrie discovered her true path by way of a diverse and meaningful career in international development, construction salvage, and education.  She is co-owner of Stockbox Grocers, a miniature grocery that is tucked inside a reclaimed shipping container and placed into a parking lot, to bring good food to more people.
