An Award-Winning Year for WWU Industrial Design [2023] 2023 was an exciting year for the ID students and faculty at Western! Here is a summary of just some of the highlights: January Student Merit Award Winner 2022 Kelsey Leppek was featured in the Winter 23 edition of INNOVATION, the IDSA Student Merit Award Winner 2022! WWU ID class of 2022. She is now working at the prestigious Astro Studios (PA Consulting) in San Francisco. February Guest Lecture: Milwaukee Tool Kevin White and Ian Christianson, industrial designers at Milwaukee Tool and Western ID alumni, visited from Wisconsin. They presented the Milwaukee design team and process, provided lunch, conducted internship interviews, and generously donated hand tools to the ID model making shop. AI Drone Cameras for Content Creators - Concept Design Western ID + Logitech

 Luna Production Assistant AI Drone Camera for Content Creators by Madeleine Gerst, Elliot Quasha, and Alexandr Barbaras Problem: Videographers struggle with heavy gear loads, tedious set-up processes for each shot, an intimidating learning curve and high prices for the hardware required to achieve professional grade content. Luna is an AI drone flight camera to reduce equipment load, invite interaction, and be controlled hands free. It records audio and video based on voice commands, following the subject as needed. Then it uploads all files to one location seamlessly. This was project by Western Washington University Industrial Design third year students with Ted Renwick of Logitech. January - March 2022. Augmented Reality for Animators - Design Concept - WWU ID + Logitech

This past winter WWU Industrial Design students worked with Logitech on the project "Convergence for Creators 2030" Augmented Animator By Daniel Jones, Brendan Mudd, and Carson Porter-Keese How will animators create content 10 years in the future? The AR design system is intended to create an improved workflow for animators.  Allowing the user  capability to work within inspiring environments, work in three-dimensions, and improve ergonomics.
