The Magpul Ronin MIKE MAYBERRY Co-Owner Magpul Industries Corp.  and Ronin Motorworks Mike Mayberry is an industrial designer and entrepreneur who has spent his 20-year career working in the firearms, aerospace, bicycle, and outdoor footwear industries. A jack of many trades, Mike is passionate about design and all things mechanical. Mike is co-owner of Magpul Industries Corp., which designs and manufactures components for use by elite military units, law enforcement agencies, and civilian sport shooters. He also owns Ronin Motorworks , a custom motorcycle shop based in Denver. Prior to co-founding Magpul and Ronin, Mike worked as director of product design and development at Boa Technology, helping to establish Boa as the leader in mechanical lacing systems. ReMade 2013: New Housewares Designs from Repurposed Materials

Aidan Borer  created his  Bottl  storage containers from recycled wine bottles and capped them with hand-turned reclaimed fir. The Industrial Design Juniors students at Western Washington University have been hard at work, designing and fabricating new houseware designs made of repurposed materials.  They were debuted at the Ideal shop in Bellingham, WA last week, and are only available there. The project was led by Prof. Arunas Oslapas. Captions were written by the staff at Ideal and photos are by Jason Morris. Each is painted with a band of chalkboard paint to label the vessel's contents. Louie Dawson's Cast Off  yo-yos are made using discarded office chair wheels. Dawson took apart each wheel  and reassembled with an inset made from scrap hardwood. His design uses the existing symmetry of the steel axle of the wheels to produce a top-knotch yoyo.
