Western's X Prize Car

Here's a sneak look at what the Western Washington University vehicle for the Progressive Automotive X-Prize will look like.  Our industrial design students are working together with the Vehicle Research Institute X prize team to design the vehicle for the competition.  The body shape is based on the Viking 40, which is extremely aerodynamic and low.  But we're making changes to the colors, rear end styling, headlights and other details.   The car will be a lightweight composite structure and a hybrid drive train.  There's a great article about each of the cars on Wired.com.  More views to come...
