Teague: Design & Beauty Documentary preview and Kickstarter launch

I just launched the Kickstarter fund raising campaign to complete the Teague documentary. Here is a short video describing the story and a preview of some the clips.

This feature length documentary will tell the story of his life, his rise to prominence, his turbulent relationship with his rebellious son, and the stories behind some of his greatest designs.  The inspiring story is told through hand-drawn illustrations, photographs, product designs, interviews, narrative, animation and film.
Only $3500 left to go! And 29 days to raise it.
What does my contribution go towards?
Everything to complete the movie and get it out to the audience. Such as voice overs, music, printing, DVDs, and film festivals. Production, I’m happy to say, is finished. And I just completed the rough cut. So, I need your help to get these last post-production tasks complete.
Some of the rewards include a DVD of the movie, illustration stills, and posters.

Designed by Ronald Paul Viernes and illustrated by Clement Gallois, designers at TEAGUE.

When will it be done?
I've been invited to have a premiere showing at the IDSA (Industrial Designers Society of America) National Conference in Austin, Texas in August of 2014.  So, it has to be done by then!  I hope to also show it at a few film festivals too.

Who's working on this?
"Jason A. Morris has the winning combination of talents and background to make a compelling film to tell Teague’s story. Morris is an industrial designer, professor and independent filmmaker. After making a short documentary about his bicycle design project in Uganda, Hoima Bicycle, which won the best documentary short award at the 2009 NW Projections Film Festival, Jason connected with the TEAGUE design studio in Seattle to make a documentary about their founder, Walter D. Teague. In January 2010 he began digging through countless boxes of archives in Seattle and discovered photographs, renderings, and documents dating back to the early 1920s. He then interviewed former staff, Teague’s grandchildren, historians, and designers all over the United States. After over three years of research, he wrote a script, filmed product designs and drew over 100 illustrations to depict key moments in Teague’s life."
"His interest is in exploring the story behind the designs and the transformative decisions in his life. Having worked on several other short films revolving around design, Jason has developed a unique approach to film making. He has a style that is unique, engaging and lends itself well to both film and design. Those talents combined with an iconic subject and tons of content lead Morris to make this his first feature length film. There couldn't be a better person to tell this story and now is your chance to be a part of Jason’s team and support a man who is bound for great things in visual storytelling." - Wilson Large
