Teague: Design + Beauty is a biography of the life and work of the American designer, Walter Dorwin Teague.

Walter Dorwin Teague was one of greatest American designers of the machine age. Among his hundreds of designs, were the Kodak Brownie cameras, the Kodak Bantam Special, Texaco’s art deco gas stations, the Polaroid desk lamp, Steuben glassware, the Marmon 16 automobile, Sparton radios, and pavilions of the 1939 New York World's Fair.

Through hand-drawn illustrations, photographs, product designs, interviews, narrative, animation and film, Morris’ historical documentary uncovers the mysteries of Teague’s life, his rise to prominence from humble origins, his mid-life transformation, and the stories behind some of his greatest designs. A mysterious drawing by Teague guides Morris through the transformative moments in his life.

The documentary is a tribute to the incredible career of an ambitious, creative, risk-taking and hard-working man who helped shape a modern America.

Some interviews include: Bill Moggridge, Director of the Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum; Harry Teague, Architect and grandson of Walter D. Teague; Prof. Craig Vogel, University of Cincinnati; Russell Flinchum, Design Historian and others.

What's the connection of Walter Dorwin Teague and San Diego?  In 1935 San Diego hosted the California Pacific Exposition and one of the center pieces of that fair was the Ford pavilion.  Teague and his staff designed the building and the exhibits within. Today that building still stands and has been re-purposed as the San Diego Air and Space Museum.
